The block (2) has a barrel ratchet integrated, by pivoting around an axis (D), with an hour ratchet that engages with a hammer driving lift for triggering a main strike. An alarm triggering wheel (118) triggers a secondary strike i.e. alarm clock strike. The wheel and a detent ratchet (9) are controlled by respective control units selected for triggering execution of the secondary strike or the main strike. The wheel and the detent ratchet co-operate with a hook for authorizing transfer of energy to a sound mechanism for executing the secondary strike or the main strike in a separate manner. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a secondary strike drive mechanism for a striking timepiece (2) a timepiece.
