Gear change mechanism for motor vehicle gearbox - has gear change pins disengageable from control cams in idle position, with gear change members being simultaneously blocked in idling position
A cam drive generates movement at the gear change forks and clutches, using control cams (16) located at the periphery of a gear change roller (8), one for each gear change member with a coupled pin for each gear change member. The appropriate gear change movement is carried out by the roller rotation. Between two gearbox speeds the members run through an idling position in which the gear change pins are disengageable from the control cams. Simultaneously the gear change members are blocked in the idling position. With the pins disengaged the roller is rotatable into any idling position between the gear steps, in which the pins can again engage the control cams.
