Method, device and bus system for synchronizing at least two buses with at least one bus participant, at least one of the buses being a TTCAN bus, with cycle times of the basic cycles in the buses, with a global time being determined in each bus and the deviations from the global times of the global times of the buses are determined, which are connected to each other via at least one participant and the deviations of the individual global times are transmitted to at least one bus participant, with the cycle times of the buses connected via at least one participant being adapted to one another as a function of the deviations in the global times so that they are synchronized with respect to the cycle times and the cycle times are adjusted by means of a time-limited adjustment of the frequency of the cycle time in at least one of the buses.
