The circuit has a hydraulic bypass system including a circulating pump (9), a bypass piping system (15), and hydraulically connected with an exhaust gas heat exchanger (6). Heat carrier medium flows into the bypass line and the exhaust gas heat exchanger in opposite directions. A check valve (8) is provided against a flow direction of the heat carrier medium. The bypass system is connected with a supply water line of the exhaust gas heat exchanger on an output side, and the hydraulic bypass system exhibits different switching features.
