The device has a first brush device (3) provided with a first brush (5) and a first brush holder (6), and a second brush device (4) provided with a second brush (7) and a second brush holder (8). A separate damping element (12) is arranged at a pad between the first brush and the first brush holder, where a portion (13) of the damping element is made from hard rubber material. Pressure finger parts (15, 18) directly or indirectly suppress the respective brushes and brush holders. The second brush is in direct contact with the damping element by the second brush holder. An independent claim is also included for an electric machine comprising a shaft grounding device.
