Method for manufacturing e.g. multifunctionally insertable, temperature-resistant and self-supporting knitted fabric body utilized in e.g. sieve, involves pushing tubular knitted fabric base body in expanded state in stitch course direction
The method involves pushing a tubular knitted fabric base body (1) in an expanded state in a stitch course direction (M) of the fabric base body such that portions of the fabric base body are overlapped with each other. The fabric base body is axially and/or radially compressed by a pleating process such that a type of pleated knitted fabric (2) is realized. The fabric base body is spread by a shaping spreader. The fabric base body is folded, pressed and moved in the stitch course direction by the spreader such that the fabric base body is pleated. The knitted fabric body is compressed to form a pleating knitted fabric that is in a shape of a cone, a truncated cone, a hollow cylinder, a ring, a pyramid, a pipe section, a plate and a parallelepipe.
