The footrest (1) has a footstep plate (3) rotatable opposite to a carrier part (2) around a vertical axis (9). The footstep plate is axially pre-tensioned opposite to the carrier plate along the vertical axis by a spring element to form friction-affected fixation of the footstep plate opposite to the carrier part. A spring force of the spring element is smaller than a predetermined load in form of a weight. The footstep plate is encompassed into a depression (5) of the carrier part, and a tread (6) of the footstep plate is raised opposite a residue tread (7) of the carrier part.
