The rod (10) has an arm base (14) extending between a wheel-end bearing and a body-side bearing (12), and a weakening material (16) introduced in the arm base to influence ductile deformation properties of the rod that is made of ductile material. The weakening material includes circular hole openings (18, 20) and a narrow elongated bridge opening (22). The weakening material is arranged in a region at the stressed body-side bearing, and the bridge opening is aligned perpendicular to a direction or perpendicular with respect to the arm base that follows an arm contour line (24).
