The apparatus and method comprises an evaporator, and a condenser chamber that are formed as hollow vessels such as a stack of double-wall sheets and are present in an insulating housing, where the method comprises pumping a pump hot water from the condenser to the evaporator through an independent circuit so that the heat of evaporation, which is transported by air from the evaporator to the condenser, is guided back to the evaporator.
