Method for operating drive unit of motor car, involves determining control variable for butterfly valve based on reference value and determining pilot control value based on reference value for mass air flow via control element
The method involves determining a reference value (15) for mass air flow or air pressure in a suction plant (12) of a drive unit (10) dependent on driver desire torque. A control variable for a butterfly valve (14) of the drive unit is determined based on the reference value. A pilot control value for the valve is determined based on the reference value for the mass air flow or air pressure via a pre-control element (17). A regulating quantity for the valve is determined using a load map, and is controlled with the pilot control value.
