The device (1) has a cold storage (10) accommodating a storage medium (12) i.e. water. A container wall (11) is connected with a cooling space (5) by a metallic heat conductor (22) such that heat from the cooling space is made to conduct via the heat conductor up to the cold storage. The container wall of the cold storage and the cooling space are thermally insulated from each other in such a manner that heat transition resistance of the cooling space over the heat conductor up to the cold storage is smaller than heat transition resistance of the cooling space to the cold storage. An independent claim is also included for a method for cooling vaccines and/or medicaments.
