The system (10) has a high temperature heating circuit (48) connected to an output (36) of a heat storage volume (26), and a low temperature heating circuit (78) connected to an output (66) of another heat storage volume (30), where temperature levels of the circuits are adjusted by a heat carrier (14) output from a heat pump (12). The heat pump provides heat to the high temperature and low temperature heating circuits. A reversing valve (20) connects an output of the heat pump with an input (24) of the former heat storage volume or with an input (28) of the latter heat storage volume.
