The system has a heat exchanger (1) in which condensate is formed by cooling steam in a collecting pot. The condensate from the collecting pot is continuously formed in an unpressurized storage e.g. water storage, through a condensate return flow pipe (4) at an appropriate condensate level. The condensate from the collecting pot is limited by operation of a condensate pump continued to a pressure tank e.g. feed water container. Waste water in a lower end of the heat exchanger is cooled and discharged at an appropriate level of an overflow pipe.
