The telescope (1) has two telescope tubes (2, 2') running with distance from each other and hingedly connected with each other over a bridge (3). Joints (4, 4') are provided at the telescope tubes and provided with joint receivers (7, 8, 8') into which joint axle elements (5, 6, 6') run, where the elements cooperate with the bridge. A pressure bearing (10) is arranged in a region of one of the joint receivers at one of the tubes or at both the tubes. The joint axle elements in a region of the other opposite joint receiver are pivotable by the pressure bearing. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a binocular telescope.
