The method involves driving a nail (3) from an initial position into an end position in upper and lower unperforated mating parts (1, 2) with a rotating movement (D) with high angular speed and with an axial advancing movement (V) with high acceleration. A lower side of a nail head (3a) is overlaid on an upper side of the upper unperforated mating part. A nail shaft (1b) is provided area by area with a surface profile (4) i.e. screw thread. The nail head with a drive element (5) is formed for transmission of the rotating movement. An independent claim is also included for a device for manufacturing a nail connection between upper and lower unperforated mating parts.
