The component i.e. cross beam (10) has a base component made from a metallic material and provided with a plastic part. An inductive sensor (18) is arranged at the cross beam to detect deformation of the cross beam and produce a characterizing signal, where the characterizing signal is transferred to an evaluating device by contactless coupling of the inductive sensor with the evaluating device. The inductive sensor includes a sensor region (22) and a transfer region (24), where the sensor region and the transfer region are constructed as bifilar winding. An independent claim is also included for a method for testing a carrier component.
