The device has an inlet with a line for introduction of gaseous medium i.e. air, staying under pressure into a container, which is filled with high density medium i.e. water. The gaseous medium ascends into the high density medium in a continuous flow. An attachment element i.e. catch element, is arranged in continuous flow. The attachment element is displaced into a movement by the medium flow and delivers kinetic energy. An outlet includes a line for applying low pressure to the container so that a low density medium i.e. air, is sucked into the container. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing kinetic energy from high pressure of a gaseous medium.
