The device has multiple positioning pins (4) arranged over entire surface of relief structure of a matrix (2). One of the positioning pins is perpendicularly arranged on the matrix and another positioning pin is horizontally arranged on the matrix. The positioning pins are displaced between a driven out arrangement, in which distal ends of the positioning pins for the positioning of a preform foil (1) lie in a horizontal plane, and another arrangement (4'), which is partly retracted in the matrix. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a complex-three-dimensionally formed continuous fiber-reinforced preform from a preform foil.
