The children self-closing door-or-staircase grille has a grid secured at a rotatable vertical support (1) and/or a fixed vertical support (2), where the supports are vertically and firmly clamped in a single passage using a clamping apparatus (12), such that the formation of a tripping edge is prevented. The grid consists of mutually displaceable plates for adaptation to the width of the passage. A slip-retardant medium (15) is provided at ends of the vertical supports. A support is provided with an electromagnetic drive unit that allows the grid to be moved or fixed. The clamping apparatus is a thread, an eccentric element and a spring.
