The folding hinge has two hinge pieces (12,14) which are pivoted at a hinge axis (20) and locked by a catch unit (34) in a locking position, in which the hinge pieces partially rest against each other. The catch unit is pivoted at one of the hinge pieces averted to the hinge axis and interacts with a counter catch unit (44) at the other hinge piece for automatic locking of the hinge pieces. The catch unit is fixable by clamping devices (22,26) extending through one of the hinge pieces.
