The node (1) has a sensor (26) for acquisition of states and/or environment parameters that are provided as sensor measurement data. Interfaces (27, 28) make contactless communication of the sensor node to another sensor node of a wireless sensor network with a middle range. A radio-frequency identification (RFID) interface (31) makes contactless communication of the sensor node with a reading device. The data are read-out by a reader secured under control of a microprocessor (70) i.e. smart card chip, over the RFID interface, where microprocessor encodes and decodes the supplied data. The states and/or environment parameters are selected from a group consisting of temperature, air humidity, pressure, movement and vibration. An independent claim is also included for a method for contactless transferring of signals with a sensor node.
