The coil (3) has two partial coils (3', 3'') wound one above the other in counter-rotating directions or an air gap direction. Two sets of conductor ends (A', A'') are arranged in two air gap planes on two sides of coil bundles, respectively. Each partial coil includes a conductor layer in a direction of a coil axis. One of the sets of conductor ends is electrically connected in series such that the coil comprises alternating layers of left-and right-wound partial coils. The partial coils are designed as a part of a drum-shaped winding, cylindrical winding or a disk shaped winding.
