The train has a camshaft comprising a carrier shaft and torque-proof cam pieces slidably arranged between axial positions. A cam group comprises cams of different elevations connected along axial links and associated with the cam pieces. Actuating pins (11, 12) are injected in the cams for displacing the cam piece in axial positions. An actuator (13) is associated to sensors and arranged on an axial region for detecting instantaneous axial positions and to generate a respective characteristic signal, where actuator is exactly assigned to each cam piece.
