The centrifuge has a turbine (8) to convert reversible energy incorporated as pressure and kinetic energy in a residual gas (2) into mechanical energy, where the turbine transmits the mechanical energy to a rotor (1). The reversible rotation energy contained in separated gas (14) is converted into gas pressure. Guide vanes of a stator ring (10) guide the residual gas. A gas inlet (27) is placed at a lower end of a housing (28) of the centrifuge. The gas inlet is connected with an inlet chamber (29) over a cylindrical space (30) and an opening (31).
