The device has a hot gas generator (2) for filling a balloon-shaped float with compressed gases e.g. nitrogen. A compressed gas storage (1) is combined with the hot gas generator. The gas generator is arranged within or outside the compressed gas storage. The gas generator includes a pyrotechnic set, which is arranged as a solid propellant cartridge in a housing (3). The gas storage is connected with the mixing chamber over an extraction valve (6). The gas generator is based on catalytic decomposition of liquid energy carrier i.e. hydrazine, and solid energy carrier i.e. lithium hydride.
