The system has control picture screens i.e. monitor terminals, and an integrated communication and processing unit combined in a modular system structure. The control picture screens are equipped with a video camera, a microphone and loudspeakers. The video camera and the microphone receive an image and sound of a user. The control picture screens and the loudspeakers provide the image and sound of a communication partner and are served to operate the system. The control picture screens use simple visual symbols to support and/or initiate selection of communication partners.
