The high pressure fuel injection system (1) has a high pressure fuel injection valve (7) that is arranged in an inlet chamber (5) of an inlet pipe (3) of an engine. An entrance of the high pressure fuel injection valve is stand in connection with a fuel pipe (9). The high pressure fuel injection valve has multiple spraying cones. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a spark-ignited engine.
