The device (1) has a chamber (2) in which a crushing mill (9) for crushing salts is provided. The chamber is opened for outputting a salt aerosol. The chamber is surrounded by upper and lower parts (3, 4), which hold the mill during separation of the upper and lower parts from each other. A sensor detects an assembly position of the upper part at the lower part. An electrical contact element is provided between the upper and lower parts, which are held relative to each other over magnets. A sieve is provided between the chamber and a channel (12) for separating large salt particles.
