The generator has a transformer producing a high voltage. A housing and contact springs (1) are provided for connection to ignition electrodes (6). The contact springs are directly attached to contacts (7) of the ignition electrodes. The contacts are inserted into the housing. The electrodes are arranged at the housing or a housing portion i.e. burner lid (5). The transformer and the contact springs are commonly arranged in the housing. The housing includes an integrated or separately attached sealing cap (4), which is designed for sealing the inserted contacts. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an ignition spark generator.
