The dishwasher (1) has a rinsing container (2) comprising a single-or multi-piece bottom unit (7) and a single-or multi-piece cover unit (8) that is associated with the bottom unit in an installed position, where the bottom unit and the cover unit are sealed against each other. A long stretched seal is firmly held at the bottom unit between the bottom unit and the cover unit in the installed position, and expansively extended from a support toward the cover unit. The seal is frictionally pressed against the cover unit by an expansive partial region of the seal. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a dishwasher.
