The method involves providing a fluid pipe (1) with diameter (D2), where the fluid pipe comprises a head-shaped end section (4) with diameter (D3) increased opposite to the diameter of the fluid pipe. The fluid pipe with an end section is inserted into a defective end section (3) of another fluid pipe (2) until an overlapping area is formed between the fluid pipes. The defective end section is automatically sealed by a request of an enlarged head-shaped end section at a nip-shaped constriction. An independent claim is also included for a device for sealing a defective end section of a fluid pipe.
