The unit (10) has a sealing surface running around a passage opening. Valve plates (40a, 40b) close the passage opening by resting on the sealing surface in a closed position. A stop element defines an open position of the valve plates at a distance from the sealing surface. The sealing surface is arranged at a sealing region that is movable relative to a valve base (20). The sealing region and edge regions (26a, 26b) of the valve base are arranged such that an interspace is formed between the edge regions and the sealing region.
