The method involves radiating a laser beam (1a) from a laser device (1) with respect to metallic components (2a,2b) on substrate (5) to start a welding process and the metallic components are heated by laser radiation. The temperature of the metallic components during welding process is detected using temperature detecting unit (3) based on thermal radiation characteristics of the substrate and welding parameter of the laser device is controlled based on the detected temperature during welding process. An independent claim is included for laser welding device.
