The device has two partially-annular, form-stable elements arranged at respective ends of a gutter-shaped or tubular element, where the diameter of each form-stable element is larger than the diameter (DT) of a tunnel (12) of a gantry (2) of a medical imaging device (1). One of the form-stable elements is partially flexible and is made of resilient material. One of the form-stable elements is made of metal, metal wire, plastic, rubber and/or rubbery material. The gutter-shaped or tubular element is formed from a metal foil, a plastic film, rubber, rubbery material and/or fabric. The gutter-shaped or tubular element is provided with antibacterial additive.
