The rotor (1) has permanent magnets (3) mounted on a periphery of a rotor body (4) by multiple pockets (2), where each pocket i.e. bag, intractable and connected with the rotor body. The rotor body comprises metal sheets that are laminated axially. The pocket comprises a clamping structure, into which the permanent magnet is clamped. The pocket is made of metal or fiberglass and has a cover, permanent guide and an extruded section. A rotor attaching unit (8) e.g. weld seam, holds a respective pocket of a respective pole at the rotor body. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a rotor.
