The actuator has an actuating unit that includes a flexible strip (3) in which electromagnets (7-9) are placed laterally. The flexible strip is passed between the deflection rollers (12,13). A portion of the flexible strip is attracted by formation of magnetic field on application of current so that the electromagnets are magnetized to deflect the flexible strip.
