The component has a medium (130) that is provided in housing (110) of a substrate (100) and is in contact with a medium (150). A sensor element (120) detects physical and/or chemical property of the medium (130). The sensor element generates a signal, when the physical or chemical property of the medium (130) is changed with respect to change in the pressure/force (160) in the medium (150). An independent claim is included for method for sensing pressure in printer socket.
