The device comprises a tool having a contact surface, whose contour corresponds to, in sections, a desired contour of a first outside of a sheet metal part (3), and a pressure device (6, 7, 8) for forcing the sheet metal part in an interlocking unit, with which the desired contour corresponding desired contour portion of the contact surface is provided. The tool comprises recesses in the contact surface, where in each of the recesses a laser cutting head is accommodated. The pressure device comprises a counter tool (9) with a further contact surface. The device comprises a tool having a contact surface, whose contour corresponds to, in sections, a desired contour of a first outside of a sheet metal part (3), and a pressure device (6, 7, 8) for forcing the sheet metal part in an interlocking unit, with which the desired contour corresponding desired contour portion of the contact surface is provided. The tool comprises recesses in the contact surface, where in each of the recesses a laser cutting head is accommodated. The pressure device comprises a counter tool (9) with a further contact surface, whose further contour corresponds to, in sections, a further desired contour of the first outside opposite to a second outside of the sheet metal part. One of the laser cutting heads is provided on a moving unit for moving the laser cutting head in a plane spanning parallel to a first breakthrough. The counter tool exhibits a second breakthrough for discharging a sheet metal part opposite to each of the laser cutting heads. The second breakthrough is arranged downstream of a collecting funnel (12) in the falling direction. The tool and the counter tool are movable towards one another at a press. The tool is mounted at a fixed upper crossbar of the press, and the counter tool is mounted on a movable lower crossbar. The lower crossbar has a third breakthrough downstream of the second breakthrough in the falling direction for discharging the sheet metal part. The laser cutting heads are connected with a laser beam source connected to a laser beam switch by a first beam head having a laser beam. Independent claims are included for: (1) a laser cutting assembly; and (2) a method of producing first breakthroughs in a sheet metal part.
