The fuel pump has housing (1) for accommodating a pump element (2). A liftable piston (3) is supported on cam through the push rod assembly (4) and is driven by eccentric drive (5) in a reciprocating motion, so that the fuel is sucked into pump working space via inlet (6), and is compressed in a pump working chamber (7) and is fed via a high pressure outlet (8). The piston has central bore (9) that is formed in inlet in a state coaxially to longitudinal axis (A) of the piston, so that extending hole (10) is formed in housing portion (11) in a state connected to housing.
