The method involves providing a nipple body (1) with a head (11), a neck section (12) and a square portion (13), and drilling an opening from a side of the square portion via the neck section up to the head under formation of an expansion aperture (14) and a narrow aperture (15), where the expansion and narrow apertures are merged into one another. A slot (16) is formed in the head at an end of the narrow aperture. A clamping region (152) is formed in the narrow aperture, and a screw thread in a threaded portion (151) between the expansion aperture and the clamping region is cut.
