The method involves illuminating eye with light pulses of defined wavelength, and receiving light reflected from a portion of the eye by a sensor. The monochromatic images of defined wavelengths and dark image of fundus received by the sensor, are transmitted to a control unit. The monochromatic images are combined by the control unit to a resultant color fundus image. The color intensity distribution for correcting the color composition of the resultant color fundus image is obtained based on the dark image representing the noise of the sensor. An independent claim is included for device for generating high-quality image of fundus of eye.
