Generatively producing a component (2), preferably a turbomachine, comprises solidifying a powder bed (4) in section-wise manner by energy input, to form a local melt bath in the powder bed; and vibrating the powder bed for releasing gas components from the local melt bath and increasing the bulk density of the applied powder layer. An independent claim is also included for a device for generatively producing the component, preferably the turbomachine, comprising an energy input device for section-wise solidification of the powder bed by energy input for forming the local melt bath in the powder bed, and a vibration device (10) for vibrating the powder bed for releasing gas components from the local melt bath.
