The lifting column unit (10,12) has a lifting column, particularly telescopic lifting column and an electric drive motor (14,16) in a motor housing (36) for extending and retracting the lifting column. A control device (18,20) is provided in the motor housing for controlling the drive motor. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a piece of furniture with a base frame; and (2) a table arrangement with an electric distribution unit.
