The machine (1) has an adjusting mechanism for adjusting distance between a spinning body and support wheels of a chassis (7). A rake spinner (3) includes an adjusting drive for height adjustment of a rake tooth. Driving movement of a towing vehicle (2) and the machine is detected as data by a sensor. The detected data is evaluated and forwarded to an actuator. The rake spinner is directly taken out during standstill condition of a car/trailer combination and brought into a marginal position lying over a ground level.
