The device (200) has an exhaust nozzle (201) made of aluminum and/or aluminum alloy, and an exhaust nozzle support (203) made of carbon fiber material. An intumescent material layer is arranged for facing a cargo space of an airplane in an installed state such that the layer is extractable into the cargo space by the device upon activation of a fire extinguishing system of the airplane. Material thickness of the nozzle support is in a range of 0.75-1.5 mm. Thickness of the layer is larger than 150 micrometer. The device is made of aluminum and/or aluminum alloy, and/or carbon fiber material.
