The frame (1) has base rails (2) fixing the frame on a horizontal base layer (3), and mounting brackets (4) fastened to the base rails. The brackets are designed as support elements for solar panels. Foot profiled rails (5) are arranged in series and designed as holding elements for holding a lower edge area of the solar panels. Wind guide plates (6) are arranged in series for closing an air space between the solar panels and the base layer. The wind guide plates are coupled with one another at abutting edges by a locking connection (11) i.e. groove and/or spring connection.
