The damping device has parallel tension springs (1,2) whose one end is connected to bearing point (4a) of a stretcher unit (9) and other end is connected to the deflection rollers (12a-12c,13a-13ac). A rope (3) is secured at the stretcher unit over the deflection rollers and fixed at a frame element (5). The tension springs are provided with different spring rates such that the stretcher unit is damped only after traveling a predetermined distance from initial position. An independent claim is included for stretcher module.
