The system has an operating element designed as a rotating and pressing switch for inputting a starting point and an ending point of time period and association of the period to defined categories such as projects and mandators, and cost units. An electronic display or a terminal for an external electronic display device e.g. computer system and mobile radio, visually represents input of a user, control of the period and menu guide by an image reproduction process. An interface e.g. universal serial bus (USB)and Bluetooth, is provided for the display device.
