Hydraulically damped clamping system for automatically tensioning traction unit of traction drive for driving e.g. air compressor of internal combustion engine, has gas-filled reservoir arranged within piston housing as pressure reservoir
The system (1) has a pressure chamber (13) filled with a hydraulic fluid. A quantity of the fluid is displaced from the chamber into a reservoir (15) through an adjusting leakage gap (14) between a piston (4) and a cylinder (3) for damping movements of the system. The fluid flows from the reservoir into the chamber through a one-way valve (16) of the piston in an opposite movement of the piston. A gas-filled reservoir (17) is arranged within a piston housing (5) i.e. hollow body, as a pressure reservoir. The gas-filled reservoir is filled with noble gases, reactive gases or air.
