The steam system comprises a low-pressure degasser (16) for degassing a feedwater, a process consumer (24), which is operable with an operating pressure of a second pressure level, a low-pressure steam rail (22) whose operating pressure lies on the second pressure level, a further process consumer, a heat exchanger for preheating the feedwater, and a condensate collector for collecting a steam condensate downstream the further process consumer, where the operating pressure of the low-pressure degasser lies on a first pressure level above an atmospheric pressure. The steam system comprises a low-pressure degasser (16) for degassing a feedwater, a process consumer (24), which is operable with an operating pressure of a second pressure level, a low-pressure steam rail (22) whose operating pressure lies on the second pressure level, a further process consumer, a heat exchanger for preheating the feedwater, and a condensate collector for collecting a steam condensate downstream the further process consumer, where: the operating pressure of the low-pressure degasser lies on a first pressure level above an atmospheric pressure; the second pressure level lies above the first pressure level; and the further process consumer, the heat exchanger and the condensate collector are operable with the operating pressure of the first pressure level and are connected with a steam turbine (38). The steam turbine: is provided between the low-pressure steam rail and the low-pressure degasser; relaxes a vapor from the low-pressure steam rail from the second pressure level to the first pressure level; and is drivable to an aggregate (42), which is electricity generators, pumps, compressors and blowers and drivable by the steam turbine. The low-pressure degasser, the further process consumers, the heat exchanger and/or the condensate collector are connected with the steam turbine via the low-pressure steam rail whose operating pressure lies on the first pressure level, which is 1.5 bar. The second pressure level is 5-8 bar. The pressure difference between the second and first pressure levels is 1 bar.
